FreightGauge’s role
FreightGauge is a freight review and shipper-support service of Capital Row LLC. FreightGauge is not a motor carrier or a licensed transportation broker and does not accept a shipment for carriage through this website. Transportation brokerage services are provided through FreightSaver, now part of Echo Global Logistics, or other appropriately authorized third-party brokers under their own operating authority and contracts. An inquiry, comparison report or review request does not book a shipment or bind a broker or carrier.
The contracting transportation provider
Before booking, the quote or service agreement must identify the legal entity acting as broker, its applicable FMCSA operating authority, the transportation service, rates and additional-charge terms. For U.S. interstate property brokerage, qualification includes active broker authority, the required $75,000 surety bond or trust filing, and a process-agent designation. Carrier authority and insurance requirements are separate from broker financial security. These are qualification criteria, not a claim that FreightGauge has audited every provider or a guarantee of cargo coverage. Current authority and filings can be checked through FMCSA Licensing & Insurance; see FMCSA’s broker registration requirements.
The free Freight Second Look
The free initial second look addresses one freight question, such as an unexpected charge, a bill or a problem lane, within a mutually confirmed scope. No fixed invoice count is required to request help. Actual billing conclusions depend on relevant quotes, shipment records and applicable terms. The initial second look is free whether or not an issue is identified; you keep any refund or credit you obtain. This is not an unlimited audit or a promise to recover money. You do not have to change providers, book freight or buy further services. Availability, scope, records needed and timing are confirmed when the request is accepted.
The private invoice checker
The checker compares the invoice, quote or rate agreement, approved additions, payments and received credits you confirm. Extracted figures may contain errors. Confirm the same shipment, services and currency before relying on a comparison. A possible overpayment means recorded net payment exceeds the supplied quote plus approved additions; it does not establish that money is legally owed to you. Unpaid differences are billing flags. Missing rates, payment records or matching currencies may prevent a conclusion. The checker does not access your accounting system, make payments or submit disputes.
A difference needs evidence
A higher bill can reflect a valid service, freight-class or weight correction, fuel adjustment, tariff or other applicable charge. Quotes may be conditional, and the controlling contract and shipment records matter. Reviews do not guarantee an error, savings, refund, rate, pickup or delivery time. You remain responsible for payments, deadlines and commercial decisions. A review does not extend a claim deadline or replace legal, accounting, insurance or customs advice.
Compensation and further work
FreightGauge or its representatives may receive referral or agency compensation from a broker when you choose to place business with that provider. That relationship may create a financial incentive to recommend a provider. Ask for the applicable arrangement before booking. Ongoing Freight Desk services or additional recovery work require a separate written scope and price accepted before work begins. A flagged charge alone does not create a fee.
Published examples and brand references
The homepage invoice and checker demonstration are fictional. The FreightSaver operational examples are attributed to Tai Software and link to its published report and webinar description. They are historical partner examples, not FreightGauge customer results or studies of shipper savings. FreightSaver is now part of Echo Global Logistics. Third-party names belong to their owners; the references do not imply that FreightGauge owns those businesses, technology or equipment. The background video is illustrative and does not promise every transport mode.
Records and permitted use
Use the checker only for lawful business purposes and records you are authorized to process. Do not interfere with the site, attempt unauthorized access or submit malicious files. Before emailing or otherwise sharing confidential documents, confirm the recipient, transfer method, purpose and confidentiality terms. An NDA is available to discuss before a review. See the privacy notice for the website’s current data handling.
Website availability and limitations
The website and its preliminary comparisons are provided as available, without a promise of uninterrupted operation or error-free output. To the extent applicable law permits, Capital Row LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from reliance on the website’s preliminary results. This does not exclude liability or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded. A separately signed service or transportation agreement governs that engagement and controls if it conflicts with these website terms.
